    Accessibility Statement

    Last reviewed: July 29, 2026

    Our commitment

MusicVideos.org is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, with targeted Level AAA improvements where they do not compromise the site's brand identity.

    What we have done

    • Semantic HTML with a single <main> landmark per page and skip-to-main link.
    • Route-change announcements for screen readers (aria-live region).
    • Design-token color contrast meeting WCAG 1.4.3 for text and 1.4.11 for UI components.
    • Visible keyboard focus outlines on every interactive control (WCAG 2.4.7).
    • Support for prefers-reduced-motion — animations, tickers, and the video-queue slide are disabled.
    • Accessible names on icon-only buttons and search inputs.
    • Reflow without horizontal scrolling at 320 CSS pixels and at 400% zoom (WCAG 1.4.10).
    • Mobile tap targets of at least 44×44 CSS pixels on primary actions.
    • Transactional email templates use semantic headings and AA-contrast text.

    Known limitations

Music videos are embedded via the YouTube IFrame Player. Some player controls and caption behavior are provided by YouTube and are outside our direct control. If a specific video is missing captions, please report the video URL so we can flag it for review.

    Reporting a barrier

If you encounter a barrier or need content in an alternate format, please email accessibility@musicvideos.org. We aim to respond within 5 business days.

    Assessment approach

Accessibility is validated by automated axe-core sweeps across every public route, reflow checks at 320 px and 400% zoom, keyboard-only walkthroughs of critical flows, and manual review. Findings are tracked in our public changelog.
